About the event
Over 1,000 women flew military aircraft in WWII as Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). Ruth Franckling Reynolds (Class 43-W-2) was a flight instructor in Kingston, NY before joining the WASP. For 18 months, she ferried trainers and pursuit planes from factories to airbases across the US. Her daughter, Author Margaret DiBenedetto, grew up listening to her mother’s stories about flying for the WASP. She has worked closely with the National WASP Museum in Texas and has written a historical novel to tell some of her mother’s flying experiences. Her presentation will discuss the WASP and her mother’s aviation adventures.
There will be an accompanying slide show and questions are strongly encouraged.
