At 10 am, local pilot Edward Chevrette, author of "Wings of Fortune, personal tales from the golden age of Aviation" will give a light-hearted talk about his career in flight instruction. Ed began his flying career when he became the first cadet to earn his Private Pilots License as a member of the Civil Air Patrol Wing. He started as a part time instructor at the Loudon Airport (now closed) and later at the Schenectady County Airport, Albany, Round Lake and finally the Poestenkill Airport on a full-time basis. He held positions such as Chief Flight instructor, Chief Pilot for turbo jet charter flights, including Private, Commercial and Instrument Flight Course, two flight instructor courses and Multi Engine and Airline Transport Pilot Rating Courses for both single and Multi-Engine Aircraft.
Ed is now retired. But during his active flying career he was the holder of the coveted Gold Seal Flight Instructor Rating and FAA Certificate of Accomplishment for 10,000 consecutive hours without an aircraft accident. Be sure to ask him about "Dawn Patrol". Book Sales and Signing after talk.
