ACTIVITIES AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

The Empire State Aerosciences Museum has several outlets that the general public can use to further their education on aviation related subjects - and have fun while doing it. There are four specific programs (outlined below) that provide an enjoyable learning experience in science and social studies. In addition to the four programs, we can tailor a program to meet your exact needs. Mix and match these programs with a tour of the museum and a ride on the Simulated Reality Vehicle to make for a rewarding, fun morning or afternoon.

Birthday Celebrations
Birthday celebrations are available for all ages. Parties include one of the four hands-on and fun projects listed below plus a tour of the museum. Selecting a birthday party entitles you to use of a room for your party (please note that food, drink, and party supplies are not provided). Parties are available year-round with advance reservation required. A non-refundable deposit of $20 is required 10 days in advance of the party. Call 518-377-2191, Ext 28.
School Groups
From the moment your students arrive, they will be on a site that is steeped in avaiation history. Whether students come for a tour or combine it with one of the programs listed below. they will leave with a deeper appreciation of aviation's impact on society and of the importance of math , history, science, and art as tools needed for their future. Call 518-377-2191, Ext 28
Outreach Programs

After school and in-class activities: Aviation programs are able to motivate and interest students, as well as provide educational value to supplement the curriculum. Building aircraft models can be an enjoyable learning experience in science and social studies. Children's ability to follow instructions is also reinforced during step-by-step construction.

In addition, if desired, students will have the opportunity to operate tabletop flight simulators that will simulate landing and take-off of various type aircraft including jet fighters. Each simulator flight will last approximately 7-10 minutes. This program sharpens eye-hand coordination and provides understanding of basic aircraft flight principles and controls. You will find this to be both exciting and informative. Ages 8 and up. Call 518-377-2191, Ext 28
